England is in trouble, just like Dubai?

England risks capital flight?

"It is true the UK is also in a multi-billion pound mess after embarking on an equally insane debt-fuelled splurge.

"And yes, we are planning to borrow three times as much as Dubai in this financial year alone.

"And yes, our politicians also have a tradition of burying bad news on public holidays.

"And yes, the Bank of England did lend HBOS and Royal Bank of Scotland more than £60 billion of taxpayer money without telling us.

"So we're not exactly innocent here." - The Emerging Market Built On Sand

According to a report on the UK by Morgan Stanley bank (Morgan Stanley fears UK sovereign debt crisis in 2010 ):

"Growing fears over a hung parliament would likely weigh on both the currency and gilt yields as it would represent something of a leap into the unknown, and would increase the probability that some of the rating agencies remove the UK's AAA status...

"In an extreme situation a fiscal crisis could lead to some domestic capital flight, severe pound weakness and a sell-off in UK government bonds.

"The Bank of England may feel forced to hike rates to shore up confidence in monetary policy and stabilize the currency, threatening the fragile economic recovery."

Morgan Stanley says sterling might fall a further 10% in trade-weighted terms.

This would complete the steepest slide in the pound since the industrial revolution.

It would be worse than the 30% drop around 1931.

UK equities would perform reasonably well. (Morgan Stanley fears UK sovereign debt crisis in 2010 )

Scotland, with its oil wealth, would be better off without England.

James Clerk Maxwell, a Scot, was one of the world's top scientists. He identified and wrote the equations of the electromagnetic field. That made possible the mobile phone, satellite communications, radio and television.

Americans are worried that their education system is no longer producing enough inventors like Thomas Edison.

Thomas Edison invented the light bulb.

"Nearly all his childhood learning took place at home." (The Education of Thomas Edison )

Jonas Salk, who invented the polio vaccine, did not attend an ordinary sate school. He attended Townsend Harris School, a school for intellectually gifted students. (High school)

Sergey Brin, of Google, attended a Montessori School, which is not like a state school. (The Story of Sergey Brin )

Now there is Good News!

Robert watson-Watt, the inventor of radar, was Scottish.

In Scotland, the Scottish National Party has threatened to take control of schools away from useless local education authorities.

Scotland used to have a world famous education system.

But Labour controlled local education authorities have helped to ruin many schools.

According to a think tank: Scottish pupils are falling behind their English counterparts despite taxpayers spending an extra £1,400 per child.

Alexander Fleming was Scottish.

According to an article about UK schools in Scotland on Sunday, 9 September 2007, (Alexander attacks 'bloated' education authorities) one in every four pounds of education funding never makes it to schools.

Studies show that of the average £5,160 spent on a child's education annually, £1,700 is swallowed up by local government.

What the Scottish National Party government must do is give more powers to school headmasters.

If the SNP government give more money to headmasters, these headmasters can employ more teachers.

When the SNP government has given money to local education authorities, much of the money has been wasted.

James Watt was Scottish

Education secretary Fiona Hyslop, of the SNP, singled out Labour dominated Glasgow City Council for "deliberately" refusing to meet the class-size target.

Glasgow City Council alone is responsible for more than a quarter of the fall in teacher numbers.

Hyslop said: "For one authority among 32 councils to account for such a huge drop is deplorable.

"What is truly shocking is that Glasgow City Council has increased class sizes and cut teacher numbers at exactly the same time as figures for attainment show they are the worst-performing council in Scotland.

"To slash teacher numbers at the same time as attainment is falling is an act of reckless disregard for the interests of children."

Scotsman John Boyd Dunlop invented the inflated rubber tyre.

Hyslop is to hold talks with councils.

She said: "we will discuss how best to establish where the estimated £110m that could have been spent on teacher salaries has been spent ... and whether the Scottish Government needs to examine alternatives to the current system of local government delivery of education policy."

Ronnie Smith, general secretary of Scotland's biggest teaching union, the EIS, said: "Local authorities ... are failing to meet their obligations to our schools, pupils and teachers."

Schools run by local education authorities have a poor record.

In England, the 7 % who go to non-local education authority schools collected 40.2 % of A grades scored at A level in 2004.

The 7 % who go to non local-authority schools collected 45.7 % of the A grades in maths and 60 % of the A grades in modern languages. (Private v state: discipline and disruptive pupils)

John Logie Baird was Scottish

So, how should schools be organised?

1. Give pupils a choice of schools.

This means there must be lots of small schools of different types.

All schools should be tiny.

The big schools should be broken up.

2. Give headmasters and teachers the right to exclude pupils who are disruptive.

3. Set up special schools that give intensive care (very expensive) to the disruptive children.

4. Set up top quality schools that cater for the less academic kids.

There are parents and children who want such schools - so long as they are well run, and do not become dumping grounds for the disruptive children.

Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish

5. Lower the school leaving age and shorten the school day.

This will mean children will learn more.

That is the paradox.

6. Sack the bureaucrats.

Lord Kelvin, a Scot, played key roles in everything from thermodynamics and electric lighting to transatlantic telecommunication and the age of the Sun.

It is time to close down the "bloated" education authorities. Get rid of the government bureaucrats, both local and national. Sack the education chiefs. It is these folks who have helped to ruin British schools.

We could learn from the Netherlands, when it comes to the organisation of schools.

In the Netherlands 70% of children are educated in private schools at the taxpayers' expense.

In the Netherlands, state spending on education is lower per head than in Britain, and results are better. (Schools unchained)

Tanks in Glasgow, in 1919, ready to shoot the people.

How vicious are the ruling elite?

"In 1919 Glasgow's engineering unions called for a general strike starting on 27 January in support of the demand for a 40-hour working week...

"The Government sent English troops to Glasgow...

"Six tanks and 100 motor lorries accompanied the troops, and they were sent to strategic points across the city on 1 February in a calculated show of force." - I Belong To Glasgow: Bloody Friday

The British military were prepared to shoot the people.

"Soldiers armed with machine guns, tanks and a howitzer arrived on the Friday night and Saturday to occupy Glasgow's streets.

"A 4.5 inch Howitzer was positioned at the City Chambers, the cattle market was transformed into a tank depot, Lewis Guns were posted on the top of the North British Hotel and the General Post Office, armed troops stood sentry outside power stations, docks and patrolled the streets." - Battle of George Square - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People got hurt.

"The seriousness of the government's intent can be gauged from Regulation 965 about how to deal with 'civil unrest': 'It is undesirable that firing should take place over the heads of the rioters or that blank ammunition should be used.'" - BBC NEWS.

The Scottish National Party has been infiltrated - by stupid people.

Dundee, sourced from Author Val Vannet

Scotland has produced some of the world's brainiest people.

Think for example of Kelvin and thermodynamics, Watson-Watt and radar, or Fleming and penicillin.

Scotland's brainiest people usually leave Scotland. (Lord Kelvin refused to leave Glasgow)

An independent Scotland could stop the rot.

Now think of Dundee which once produced much of the world's jute.

Dundee looks as if it has been run for many decades by stupid Labour Party people who have spoiled the landscape by bulding ugly concrete blocks

Now, at last, Dundee is run by the Scottish National Party.

But the Scottish National Party has been infiltrated - by stupid people.

The excellent Subrosa writes (Dundee Cancels Christmas):

"Imagine my surprise when, in the Scotland section of the Times, a header 'We wish you a merry Christmas (but not in Dundee)'.

"Yes, I did have to read it twice.

"Dundee, the place of my birth, the once thriving centre of industries such as ship building, jute making, Smedleys, Timex, NCR, has finally been consumed by the Righteous brigade and in the first year of an SNP council to boot.

"I've heard of labour councils playing this silly game but it never crossed my mind an SNP council would be so accommodating to the Righteous.

"All references to Christmas have been dropped from the switching-on ceremony, on 27 November, for the city's festive lights and the occasion will be now known as 'Dundee Winter Light Night.'

"Council officials have also decided that rather than a retelling of the Nativity story there will be a disco, a contemporary circus, a continental market and a 7 foot fairy on stilts."

guinness commented...

"Yes the SNP in Dundee have been a massive let down.

"Cancelling the hogmany party in the City Square after all the promises before they were elected was disgraceful. And now this nonsense with the winter lights.

"The SNP have been helpless while NCR, Tesco Distribution, Foreman Construction, Waterfront housing projects and many other small businesses have closed or shed jobs.

"If this is the best that the SNP can do then I think many people will desert them.

"I'm now a floating voter and don't see the SNP giving me much to hang onto.

"Independence doesn't look too good if we stay part of the EU so the SNP's slogan of Independence in Europe doesn't appeal to me.

Camperdown House, in Camperdown Park, Dundee, UK - Author Ydam

"Their policy of more immigration while thousands are on the dole is electoral suicide.

"Their million pound support for the Scottish Islamic Foundation is damaging to our culture and upsets christian voters.

"And their recent defeat in Glasgow highlights how out of touch they are with ordinary people.

"Some ex Pravda hooray henry was the wrong choice. A real local bruiser would have been more successful.

"He was a good candidate for Stirling or Edinburgh but not a place like Glasgow North East."

Thursday, November 12, 2009

On 13 November 2009, in the UK, it was announced that Gordon Brown's Labour Party had won the by-election in Glasgow North East.

The poll, in Labour's safest seat in Scotland, was caused by the resignation of the former Commons speaker, Michael Martin.

In 2005, Labour candidate Michael Martin took the seat with 15,153 votes. This time the Labour candidate, Willie Bain, took the seat with 12,231 votes.

The Scottish National Party came second with 4120 votes.

It is suspected that the Labour Party's Willie Bain may have benefited from vote fraud.

1. Police are investigating reports of voting fraud with multiple voting at polling stations.

At the St Denis's polling station, police were called in by staff after voters turned up to be told their vote has already been cast.

"We have had three incidents at polling stations today where voters turned up and their name had already been crossed off," said a council spokesman. (Labour wins Glasgow North East by-election )

2. The Scotsman claims that over 6,000 people registered for postal votes in Glasgow North East, which is 10 percent of eligible voters.

(Surely not that many people can be bed ridden or in absentia, even in Glasgow North East? - Electoral fraud)

3. The Scottish National Party's Alex Salmond "told the Guardian that he had been very surprised at the large number of late postal vote applications submitted in this campaign.

"Around 1,100 were made in the three days before applications closed." - SNP braced for second rigged byelection; defeat by Labour

4. "Glasgow City Council reported over 6000 registered postal votes, a rise of some 2000 over the last two months which accounts for 30% of votes cast, surely some kind of record in there too.

"Equally chilling is the revelation that over 4000 extra voters have been added to the electoral register in the last month, accounting for 25% of those that voted." -

Willie Bain is the 'successful' Labour Party (government party) candidate.

"Willie Bain, alone amongst the candidates, confirmed that he supports spending BILLIONS on a Trident renewal despite running to represent one of the poorest areas in the country." WILLIE'S WARHEADS

The Tory's lesbian candidate just beat the BNP in the race for third place in Glasgow.

The SNP did not have the most suitable of candidates in the by-election.

The SNP candidate for the Glasgow North East constituency was David Kerr, a member of Opus Dei, which has been linked to the CIA and fascism.

Kerr at first oposed the release of Megrahi, the alleged Lockerbie bomber. (SNP hopeful attacked for membership of Opus Dei - Catholic Herald.) Does Kerr work for MI6?

What does a vote for Labour mean?

It means a vote in favour of WAR and POVERTY.

This is what the stupid and cowardly LABOUR voters voted for (GLASGOW NE: WELCOME TAE YER GORY BED):
